DOORS OF PERCEPTION
Supplement to the Dutch Mediamatic magazine in 1994
This CD ROM by Mediamatic adapts the themes discussed at a conference on interactive media for the computer screen in a fresh and innovative style. The conference was held in Amsterdam in 1993. On the two dimensional horizon of the screen, the viewer can proceed left and right along the tableaux of the participants distorted into balls which are separated by information icons. The balls embody the eight themes of the conference and offer an overview of them with text and sound. Above and below the balls, one can see the participants' heads. On enlarging a head, lips appear below it which articulate different sounds of speech and music, sometimes fragments of sentences, in case of each speaker. They might serve as funny musical instruments to anyone who goes in for composing.
