Museum of Hungarian Avant-garde Art
BÁN András

Let me inform you that the Museum of Hungarian Avant-garde Art exists. It is a virtual museum facility with a countrywide scope of collecting: following from the discipline it represents, it collects and documents the past and present of Hungarian Avant-garde art without storing and conserving artworks. The museum defines itself through its own existence, re-categorises its subject with its own collection, lends validity to its traditions through its categories, while questioning the justification for its own existence, as well as its categories and traditions; its activity is therefore to call things by their names and to deform Your mind. The Hungarian Avant-garde Art Museum takes an interest in facts. It is an autonomous system aimed at the efficient modelling (simulating) of a new quality through the reception of information and life-works.
The first public exhibition of the Museum can be viewed on 13 February this year, on Tuesday evening in Bercsényi Club (Budapest, XI. Bercsényi u. 28-30). This exhibition seeks to survey the current situation of our discipline.
Please support the Museum; donate the documentation of one completed or planned individual or group work (plot, subject, concept) characteristic of your current activity by filling in the attached museum catalog card.
Budapest, 17 January 1979.

Notes:
1. Please send your contribution by 10 February to the following address: András Bán, Budapest I, Attila út 35. - 1013
2. Let me remind you that the accurate completion of the museum catalog card will make future digital storage easier.
3. The field (116 mm x 80 mm) on the right of the card is reserved for the reproduction of the work.
4. The present quick copy will fade and become unreadable in approximately two years in natural light.
