KÖJÁL*

I heard on the Sunday News radio broadcast – twenty or so years ago – that the chapel exhibitions and actions in Balatonboglár organised by György Galántai were banned with the false premise that they were disapproved of by Köjál. In those times I spent a Sunday there, and I’ve just remembered a new detail, namely that the authorities made a complaint because there was no toilet in the chapel. Galántai and his friends did not leave this unaddressed: they built an ‘old-school’ loo using freshly planed timber. I pulled the bolt, opened the door and saw the sparkling clean traditional seat with a regular circular hole. The only thing missing from it was a cesspit.

It was a pseudo-loo.

Concept in a concept.
