AXIOM
Every human act,
a p a r t f r o m loving,
is: building ruins.
(Ákos Fodor)
Haikus by Ákos Fodor 2001

My Microcosm
To get away from this jail of a world,
I escaped into my cell
Somewhat scarred, inside and out -
I won’t pretend.
There is order here, at least that,
and, more importantly, it is still.
Here it is not a ‘tenet’
but practice to accept. Everything.

“A haiku turns two into poets, just like love turns two into lovers. The one who writes it is neither a shaman, nor an orator nor a surgeon; the one who reads it is not subjugated, not subjected to it, and is not passive. Meeting in this focus, they dissolve while dissolving the other, heal while healing the other and transform while willing, into a Third entity. It is an ascetic form, a Protean genre, a vivacious mentality; it rather creates time and space than consume them. Blessed are those, who can meet – even in just one point of one haiku – and reach each other.” (Ákos Fodor)

WISDOM
Wise and stupid people know everything
– the others are experts of one thing.
(Ákos Fodor)

WISDOM
Everything has a reason.
(And does it have sense? Do not ask me.)
(Ákos Fodor)

SOCIETY
Every order that cannot be carried out
is just demoralising.
(Ákos Fodor)

RELATIONSHIPS
You might feel it is a burden
heavier than anything that
I do not depend on you.
(Ákos Fodor)

ACCEPTANCE
Help everything
to be like it is
to begin with.
(Ákos Fodor)

LOVE
Truly, nothing can reach it, yet
everything dances around it.
(Ákos Fodor)

TRUE LOVE
Though stumbling,
I am grateful that all my paths
take me to it/her.
(Ákos Fodor)

LIFE
And there will be wind,
and then it will stop blowing.
There will be everything.
There was everything before.
(Ákos Fodor)

SELF-KNOWLEDGE
I admit: there is no one
I would do everything for,
including myself.
(Ákos Fodor)

LOVE
If you were to give
your love all you have,
what would that be?

LOSS
Its absence: losing
everything: calling:
better or worse: little.
