Because we have not used Artpool’s basement exhibition space since 28 March 2011. (The simple story is this: at the beginning of 2011 the Budapest metropolitan local government withdrew its full financial support from us, without prior announcement, on the grounds of ‘economising with funds’. Then the leadership of the district, which owns the property, wanted to increase the rent tenfold, also on the grounds of ‘economising’. After lengthy negotiations, they finally managed to increase it fourfold.)
